In March 2025, The Tea Tree was acquired by the City of Tea Tree Gully Council from the Sfera family, who had proudly owned and managed the highly successful function and event venue since 1997. In 2007, Michael Sfera expanded the site to include accommodation and a purpose-built conference centre, further enhancing its offering.

The venue will continue to undergo upgrades over the coming months to ensure it remains a leading destination in the region. The site is also home to the original school building, constructed in 1877, with the heritage-listed structure remaining a beautiful and significant feature of the property.

Well known and highly regarded throughout the local community and greater Adelaide, The Tea Tree continues to stand as a premium venue for conferences, weddings, functions and events in Adelaide’s north-east.
